Our Courtyard Transformation!

It has been an exciting and memorable month at The Porterbrook as we celebrated the long-awaited transformation of our courtyard. For more than four years, we had been looking forward to improving this space and it is wonderful to finally see it brought to life for our residents to enjoy.

The project began earlier in the month, with builders removing the old decking and levelling the area with stone to create a safe and accessible base. At The Porterbrook, our residents are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure they always feel involved and have a choice, so we invited them to choose the colour of our new resin. Once their chosen colour had been ordered and delivered, the resurfacing work was completed and the results have exceeded all our expectations.

The new courtyard is already proving to be a big hit with everyone here. Residents have been making the most of the fresh air and sunshine, with many enjoying a cup of tea outdoors while chatting with friends and family. The space feels brighter, more welcoming and far more usable, creating the perfect setting for spending quality time together.

This project has been a real team effort, and seeing the smiles on residents’ faces makes all the hard work worthwhile. It is exactly the kind of homely, uplifting environment we strive to create at The Porterbrook.

We are now looking to add raised planters to the courtyard so our residents who enjoy gardening can continue to do so in a way that is comfortable and accessible for everyone. We can’t wait to see flowers and herbs growing in the months ahead, bringing even more colour and life to the space.
