The Porterbrook Care Home, which is located in Sheffield’s Crosspool district consists of 44 modern en-suite bedrooms as well as a number of excellent amenities. The Porterbrook is a purpose built care home offering residential, dementia and respite care for older people in a vibrant and safe environment. We are honoured to assist each of our residents in living a full life.

Crosspool falls within the Crookes ward and the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire. Situated above the Porter and Rivelin valleys, residents can enjoy the surrounding hillsides in a quiet residential area. Due to the presence of several natural pools, the area was given the name “Crosspool” in the 1800s as travellers on the roads were said to have “crossed the pools” when they had passed through the neighbourhood. Sheffield is known for being a major industrial city in the 20th century and nicknamed as the “Steel City”, thanks to fast-flowing rivers such as the Sheaf, the Don and the Loxley, making it a perfect location for water-powered industries to evolve.
