Lynne CannellHome ManagerLynne brings a wealth of experience to her role as Home Manager at The Porterbrook. Having completed her nurse training at Sheffield University, she worked in a number of hospitals across a variety of wards, including general, surgical, and cardiology before pursuing her passion for caring for the elderly in care home settings. Lynne has worked in care homes in Sheffield and Rotherham and is privileged and honoured to now be leading The Porterbrook Care Home team and to be providing the highest possible care for all the residents.
Joyce Strachan

Joyce StrachanDeputy ManagerJoyce has been working in the care sector for over 30 years and has experience in several senior roles including being a home manager.
She joined The Porterbrook after relocating to Chesterfield from Aberdeen. In the new role, Joyce has been building new relationships with residents, their families, work colleagues and professional partners.

LaraAdministratorLara is our Administrator here at The Porterbrook Care Home, having previously graduated from the University of Edinburgh. Lara has since moved to Sheffield and is really enjoying her role here, getting to know all our lovely residents and welcoming people into the home. Lara particularly loves that every day is different yet fulfilling.
Chinchu Augustine

Chinchu AugustineNurseChinchu Augustine is a nurse at The Porterbrook. Her family calls her Appu. Chinchu was a Nurse in India and Saudi Arabia, before moving to London for a while, then up to Sheffield with her family in December 2023. Cinchu loves her work and to care for people around her. Cinchu is a keen dancer and spends most of her free time with family and friends.

I moved to the UK about 14months ago with my husband. I like to care for people. I started working at The Porterbrook Care Home in November 2023. I like the care home because it has given me the opportunity to pursue my career, and the residents are lovely and kind.

Jennifer has an Affiliated Certificate of Diploma in General Nursing, Kwame Nkrumah Science and Technology. She is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council in Ghana and has worked as a Staff Nurse for 2 years in Ghana and is currently a Senior Care Assistant in the Porterbook Care Home.

Maintenance Manager
Cameron WythersMaintenance ManagerCam joined The Porterbrook in February 2024, having worked in maintenance for a number of years. After re-training from the hospitality sector during the 2020 lockdown, Cam started his career in facilities management at a student accommodation complex. Since this, Cam has managed facilities for several businesses, including a number of restaurants in Brighton & Sheffield.
Kevin Briggs

Kevin BriggsReceptionistKevin has been working at The Porterbrook since 2016 when the doors first opened! He has always worked within the care industry and started out as a ‘Care Assistant’. Kevin has always found the roles he has worked in very rewarding and fulfilling.
While being at our home, Kevin has had a number of different roles, the latest change becoming a Receptionist. At times the role can be challenging but he really enjoys learning new tasks and especially developing his skills.

Librarian
BrendaLibrarianBrenda is one of our residents and has recently taken on the role of being our in house Librarian. Brenda says “I like being useful and I love to write and don’t do it often now. I love looking through the books and their covers and choose which ones I might like to read. I’ve been told we might be starting up a mobile library for residents in their rooms and then I will be stamping or using tickets for the books.”
