What is Residential Care?
Residential care is an appropriate care type for those who need a little assistance with their day-to-day tasks or personal care but are able to retain a sense of independence for some of the time. Residents who reside at our residential care home can adopt an excellent social life, enjoy five-star meals each and every day, and be free of housekeeping duties.
We work closely with residents and their loved ones to understand the care needs of a resident, as well as their interests and abilities in order to create and follow a personalised care package. As often residents’ needs vary over time, we are able to reassess their method of care on a regular basis to ensure they are still receiving effective care.
Residential Care at The Porterbrook
The Porterbrook Care Home strives to support residents in living the highest quality of life every single day. Free from the stresses and concerns of managing a household or everyday chores, our residents are able to enjoy doing the things that matter most, while we take care of everything else.
Our home has been carefully designed to meet both the healthcare and well-being needs of our residents. With a plethora of all-inclusive facilities and activities available each day, our residents have everything they could ever need to call The Porterbrook their home.
We offer high-quality dementia care at our residence, ensuring every resident living with dementia has everything they could ever need to lead a full and happy life. Our aim is to guide our residents while helping them to remain self-sufficient where possible. Our staff has had the necessary dementia care training and are experienced in providing the best person-centred care.
We ensure that the daily care we provide is tailored to the needs of each resident living with dementia, whilst taking into account the wishes of their family members. The Porterbrook is delighted to provide activities that are dementia friendly so that residents living with the condition can be a part of the fun, supported by a member of the team.
Whether you’re currently providing full-time care for a loved one or looking for a place to recover following an illness or injury, this care may be the best option for you. You or your loved one can relax knowing they will be looked after by our caring team for a short while.
This care type can also be used to trial our home for a few weeks, giving you the opportunity to decide if our care home is the right fit. Like with our other types of care, each person receiving short-term care has differing needs, therefore a customised care plan will always be created and followed by the team.
Providing Our Support at Every Step
The friendly team at The Porterbrook Care Home offers advice and support before, during and after the admission process. Our home manager will discuss with you and your loved ones the most suitable care method and establish a customised care plan to ensure we are supporting residents in the best way possible. We want to make sure everyone involved is satisfied with the processes put in place and strive to meet prospective residents and loved ones expectations.
