The Porterbrook Care Home is a purpose built, luxury residential care home located in the very heart of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. With en suite accommodation for 44 residents, our home offers 24-hour Residential and Dementia care as well as Respite care for older people. Not only do we provide the highest levels of person-centred care, but our home also presents an array of all-inclusive care facilities for residents to use throughout their stay. These include private outdoor space, a hairdressing salon & treatment room, a cinema room and a library to name a few.

We have a team of dedicated Activities Coordinators whose role is to provide a varied activities programme every day for our residents. From trips to the seaside, film afternoons, games and arts & crafts, there is always an engaging activity session for residents to participate in which are included in our weekly fees. If residents would rather do something else with their time, they are more than welcome to do so.
Some activities that residents have enjoyed in the past include creating sculptures, making decorations for the home for special occasions, pamper days and watching live performers. Our activities team works hard to ensure that the activities and workshops that take place in our care home are suited to the interests of our residents, and they welcome any suggestions from residents and their family.

We offer a chauffeur-driven car service to enable our residents to get to their desired destination without any worry or hassle, and there are also great transport links. Residential Care
Residential care is a care service best suited to older people who need additional assistance with their personal care regime and who would like to be free of housekeeping and cooking duties. Residents who stay with us can experience a variety of meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoy social activities with like-minded people in a welcoming environment which enhances quality of life.
All the staff work closely with residents and their loved ones to discover an individual’s likes, dislikes, abilities and preferences in order to develop a complete residential care plan. As needs change over time, we will reassess a resident’s method of care so that we are continually meeting their needs through quality care.
Dementia Care
We provide specialist dementia care at our residential home for people living with dementia. Our team is strongly committed to ensuring each resident feels comfortable and safe in their environment and has everything they could need from our specialist care team. Our goal is to support residents in living an independent lifestyle as much as possible. Our staff has an extensive amount of dementia care knowledge as well as experience working with those who have lived with dementia at different levels and stages.
We ensure that the daily personal care and support provided to residents is tailored to their needs and wishes, as well as the wishes of their friends and family members. We ensure to provide inclusive activities for all so that every person at our home, no matter what their circumstances are, can feel part of a unity.
Respite Care
Respite care provides short-term care for those in need of professional care. Whether you’re providing care duties for a loved one or have recently recovered from an illness or injury, we are here to look after you or your loved one. You are able to fully recover at The Porterbrook thanks to a compassionate care team who will cater to your every need.
Respite care can also be used as a way of trialling a care home, giving you the opportunity to decide if The Porterbrook is the right choice for you. As everyone has different reasons for requiring respite care, we will make sure that each person gets the high quality care and assistance they require, while taking into consideration their interests, preferences and goals.
